Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome

A serious condition in which obesity impairs breathing, especially during sleep, causing chronically low oxygen and high carbon dioxide levels. It is often linked to sleep apnoea and requires targeted treatment.

This condition combines obesity, chronic daytime hypercapnia, and sleep-disordered breathing. It increases risks of cardiovascular disease and hospitalisation.

Overnight CO₂ monitoring, PG or PSG are essential for detection. Stowood’s systems support clinicians in identifying OHS and guiding treatment.
