Periodic Limb Movement Disorder (PLMD)

Characterised by repetitive, involuntary leg movements during sleep. PLMD can cause sleep disruption and daytime fatigue, often detected through specialist monitoring.

PLMD is characterised by repetitive, involuntary movements of the legs (and sometimes arms) during sleep, often causing arousals and sleep disruption.

In PG and PSG, PLMD is detected using EMG recordings of limb muscles. Stowood’s systems enable accurate scoring and reporting of limb movement indices, supporting diagnosis and treatment evaluation.
