Dr Gwilym Davies
Chief Executive Officer
Dr Davies leads Stowood with a commitment to advancing sleep diagnostics through high-
quality equipment and expert support. With a DPhil in bio-engineering from The University of Oxford, he brings strategic direction to the business while maintaining a
hands-on approach with both customers and product development. Under his leadership,
Stowood continues to support NHS and private sleep clinics across the UK and beyond.
Gwilym is passionate about the science of sleep and building trusted relationships with
healthcare professionals.
Prof. John Stradling
Medical advisor and non-executive director

Professor Stradling is Medical Advisor and Non-Executive Director at Stowood, providing expert guidance on clinical practice and research in sleep medicine. He is Emeritus Professor of Respiratory Medicine at the University of Oxford, where he pioneered work on obstructive sleep apnoea and its links to cardiovascular and metabolic health. John has led major trials exploring the benefits of CPAP therapy and continues to advise on novel diagnostic approaches. His experience bridges academic research, clinical care, and product validation, helping us ensure our tools meet the needs of healthcare professionals and improve outcomes for patients with sleep disorders.
Dr Frank Johnson
Non-executive director
Dr Johnson is Non-Executive Director at Stowood, bringing decades of experience in instrumentation, R&D, and business leadership. He is President of Ottawa Instrumentation and was formerly Head of R&D at Oxford Medical Instruments, where he advanced diagnostic technologies for clinical use. Frank also played a key role in the growth of RBR, helping transform it into a global leader in oceanographic instruments. With a background in neurophysiology and a career spanning medical, scientific, and environmental sectors, Frank offers strategic and technical insight to support innovation and ensure our diagnostic tools deliver real clinical value.
Dr Catherine Kennedy
Non-executive director
Dr Kennedy is Non-Executive Director at Stowood, contributing scientific expertise and long-standing knowledge of the company. She holds a PhD in biology and has built a career spanning research, science publishing, and advisory roles. Previously an editor and publishing manager at Oxford University Press, she provides strategic guidance on innovation, partnerships, and ensuring our medical devices deliver real value to healthcare professionals.

Mike supports Stowood in a non-executive capacity, bringing strategic insight across sales,
marketing, and business growth. With extensive experience in the medtech and diagnostics
sectors, he helps shape go-to-market strategies and strengthen commercial focus. Mike
enjoys helping teams connect the dots between customer needs, brand messaging, and long-
term success — and brings a calm, thoughtful approach to every challenge.
Jake Elliott
Head of Logistics & Supply Chain
Jake manages the complex journey of our products — from manufacturing to delivery and
everything in between. He brings logistics expertise and a calm, can-do attitude to ensure
clinicians get what they need, when they need it. Jake enjoys keeping things moving behind
the scenes and finding smarter ways to streamline the supply chain.
James Fairbairn
QA & Audit Manager
James ensures our products and processes meet the highest standards. With a deep
knowledge of quality systems, regulatory compliance, and internal auditing, he plays a vital
role in making sure everything we deliver is safe, effective, and traceable. James enjoys
working closely with teams across the business to continually improve how we work and
serve our customers.
Paul Gladding
Systems Manager
Paul leads software development and integration, from device firmware to multi-language reporting platforms. His work ensures secure, user-friendly, clinically relevant software in seven languages, supporting clinicians across diverse regions. Paul thrives on solving technical challenges — interoperability, cloud connectivity, data security — all to make our diagnostics easy to use and robust in global settings.
Denzel Joubert
Manufacturing, IT and technical support manager
Denzel is Manufacturing, IT and Technical Support Manager at Stowood, where he oversees production and ensures reliable technical operations. He holds a degree in Business Information Systems from the University of Natal and has extensive experience in IT infrastructure, network diagnostics, and systems support. His analytical ability and hands-on knowledge make him a key connection between manufacturing, support, and innovation, helping to keep Stowood’s medical devices effective for healthcare professionals.
Francis Leroux
Sales Manager (South)
Francis is Stowood’s Sales Manager (South), working closely with hospitals, clinics, and distributors
to ensure they get the right diagnostic tools for their sleep study needs. With over 20 years
of experience in medical equipment sales, Francis combines product knowledge with a
practical understanding of clinical workflows. He takes pride in supporting healthcare
professionals with reliable solutions and responsive service. Francis is fluent in both
English and French, making him a key point of contact.

Finance Manager
Julia keeps Stowood’s finances running like clockwork. With a background in financial
management and control, she ensures we stay financially healthy while supporting
sustainable growth. She enjoys turning numbers into insights and helping the wider team
make confident, informed decisions. Julia is passionate about transparency and takes pride
in building strong, efficient financial systems.
Matthew Nicholls
Business Development Manager (North)
Matthew is responsible for developing new partnerships and identifying opportunities to
expand the reach of Stowood’s sleep diagnostic technologies. With a background in sleep physiology, he brings energy and
focus to helping clinicians access effective, innovative tools. Matthew is particularly
interested in improving patient outcomes through better data and diagnostic efficiency. He
is always keen to hear from sleep professionals and clinical teams looking to enhance their

Vanessa Wakelin
Office & Marketing Manager
Vanessa oversees daily operations and marketing at Stowood, keeping everything running
smoothly behind the scenes. She has a background in office management and
communications and brings a proactive, organised approach to customer service and
marketing activities. Vanessa ensures clinicians and customers receive timely information,
product updates, and support materials. She enjoys working in a purpose-driven business
